God does not hold our sin against us.

Do we get this?

God does not hold our sin against us.

We hold our sin against us!

We hold our sin between us and God.

“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,” Isaiah 59:1-2

Christ came to radically deal with our sin, to make a way through our hearts that want to hide and hate.

“I write this, dear children, to guide you out of sin. But if anyone does sin, we have a Priest-Friend in the presence of the Father: Jesus Christ, righteous Jesus. When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world’s.” 1 John 2:1 The Message

So, if God is not holding our sin against us, why are we?

  1. this is the toughest. Sin is dealt with by Christ, yet we can carry this, fishing and re fishing the same fish (guilt) and go around that mountain.
