It’s been a few days since I’ve last written. The last couple of days have been a shift into silence and sanctuary. Ensconced at my family’s home on Mayne Island, with a bit of a head cold, has brought my productivity to a m-u-c-h-slower-p-a-c-e.

I’m a big believer in following the natural rhythms required by body and soul, mind and spirit. As much as possible we must become okay with both working hard, playing hard, and then resting hard.

I know no other way to increase in output while increasing in that personal strength found way down inside each of us.

Doggedly keeping at’ her without rest or refreshment, without change of pace, has never worked for me. I’ve always had to stop and… stop, in order for renewed vigour to carry on.

Yesterday I sat with a cup of tea and in front of the fireplace for three hours. Nothing else. No music. No sounds of any sort. Just silence and my own thoughts (but not even too much of those!).

Today, I’m ready to write again and to get into the tasks (always writing tasks) as I aim to complete a few projects this month.

December is the perfect month to slow down and unwind. Take in your own change of pace. Play hard and rest hard this month.

Enjoy and be blessed from me to you.
