“God, we come before you in the name and the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Such interesting language.
The name of Jesus, because it is under his banner, in his name, that we live and move and have our being. In the Christ, means that we inhabit the Lord and more importantly, the Lord inhabits us. We are brought as co-regents into and alongside Jesus Christ as he is alongside the Father. From this perspective we perceive what God is seeing, the tenor of his heart unto these things and we endeavour to be in agreement with the Lord.
The blood of Jesus, because the blood shed by Christ marked an end to all sacrifices unto making humanity right with God. There is no further demand for death, blood, and sacrifice. It is pagan to continue in serving lesser gods (no gods at all) with an intention of power or control or some sort of protection, through the letting of blood. The blood of Jesus finished this for once and for all. In Christ we are established (legally and without exception) and being established (continuous present tense) into the heart of God. Here we rest. Here we live.
Lord Jesus Christ, because Jesus the man is God, was God, and is with God. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Because Jesus is The Christ whom was prophesied. Lord because (in the vernacular) all things bow to the one who has saved us. “Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Sounds like worship to me. Due honour to Jesus, the Son of God.
“God we come before you in the name and the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We lift Canada to you. We raise her high. We ask your mercy. We need your presence. We turn our faces to you God and we remain turned. God, burn your righteousness into our hearts and lives, into our families and communities, into our provinces and to every level of government and stewardship. May we do right by you God. May we do right by each other. We ask for holy fear, for sober judgement, for careful wisdom. Direct our prayers. May we not falter and may we not pray from selfishness or false motives. Purify our desires and give us eyes to see what we need, who we might be, how to live unto godliness, with righteousness at every level of our lives. Thank you God that you make all things new. Amen.”
I am at the start of Praying Across Canada. The plan is to drive and camp my way across the land. I’m aiming for St.John’s, Newfoundland. We shall see how the journey unfolds. The Lord asked me to do this back in January of this year, 2022. The months since saw all manner of variables shift and move so that the doors completely opened for this trip to happen. We give all glory to the Lord for this. God knows.
I’ll be sharing a bit every day about this journey and the Lord’s compelling of prayer for Canada. There will be this sharing across all of my platforms. At capturingcourage.org, at capturingcouragecanada.org (our house of prayer website), here at cyndylavoie.com, on my YouTube channel cyndylavoie, via my newsletter (use the ‘contact’ page to let me know you want to be on this list), on Facebook (follow me cyndylavoie, as my capturing courage page was deleted by FB, because I wrote some thing about prayer!). The plan is that each one of these will have something on a weekly basis. To financially partner with Praying Across Canada head to our GIVE page over on Capturing Courage International Ministries.
Blessings. May the Lord shine his face on you today and give you peace.
Blessings, blessings, blessings on your journeying, your prayer, your intercession, your pilgrimage ; you are in our hearts as you go. Shalom alekheim!
Thank You John. Bless you all! We give all glory to the Lord. Things are afoot here in Canada. Prayer is arising.
